Home Health Aide

Job Description

Summary Description: Our family is seeking a part-time person to provide eldercare, primarily for our elderly mother who has mobility challenges and dementia. Our father needs some assistance too. We are looking for someone who can be available for overnight shifts (getting up to assist with bathroom needs), day shifts, and swing-by assistance (e.g., getting our mom ready for bed).

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Assisting with daily activities

Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, medications)

Cooking

Housekeeping

Laundry

Yard work

Errands (grocery shopping, drug store)

Companionship

Assisting her with exercise

Taking her to the hairdresser, doctor’s appointments, etc.

Other similar activities as required

Desired Traits, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Experience in patient care or home care is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- Preferred training as a Home Health Aide, Nurse-Practitioner, Nurse, or other relevant healthcare provider training. First aid certification is advantageous

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Valid driver’s license

- Experience with elder-care/memory-care giving

- Kind and patient

Note: We have a very nice team of caregivers who work together to provide 24/7 care and we are looking for another person to be added to the support.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
