Supervise day-to-day Revenue Cycle Operations within the department, which includes but is not limited to registration, billing, cash posting, financial assistance, and customer service with patients. Monitor revenue cycle duties performed by R1. Manage federal/state laws and programs that we offer to patients (Hospital Discounted Care, Medicaid, and Medicare.) Managing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Ensuring that workflows and policies are up to date and provided to all Revenue Cycle staff.
EssentialDuties
- Demonstrates the ability to direct and coordinate the patient accounting functions to consistently produce accurate bills that are paid in a timely manner.
- Monitors activities consistently with collection agencies, insurance companies, registration, Health Information Management Services, Information Systems, patients and physicians; coordinates operations and recommends corrective action, as appropriate.
- Maintains a current awareness of third-party reimbursement regulations and contractual arrangements with all payers.
- Promotes good staffing practices by maximizing the utilization of resources; forecasts and anticipates the staffing needs of the department regarding fluctuations in the projected workload
- Consistently demonstrates good organizational skills in the routine collection of statistical information and reports it to the Director or Revenue Cyle and/or Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Demonstrates the ability to devise more efficient methods and systems for getting the work done in the department; reduces the use of time and effort to an effective minimum; institutes improvements in techniques and procedures as necessary
- Works effectively with auditors in locating various patient bills as required; demonstrates cooperation and responsiveness.
- Effectively utilizes and understands the Patient Accounting system to recognize its optimal potential and to be able to evaluate and answer staff member questions regarding the mechanics of the system.
