Location: Air Force Academy
Duties DUTY 1:
Manages the component adjudication security program for the DRU and facilities. Analyzes internal and external programs for weaknesses, opportunities, threats, problems, and vulnerabilities to mission(s). DUTY 2:
Formulates, analyzes, interprets, develops, and recommends security adjudication concepts, and practices. DUTY 3:
Provides data and data assessment as well as status updates from systems to ensure the Personnel Security Chief has a holistic framework to provide that advice. DUTY 4:
Implements and administers DRU Personnel Security investigations/adjudication systems for case management. DUTY 5:
Responsible for providing assistance to the Industrial and Information Security Specialists, as well as the Director, Information Protection. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
* Employee must maintain current certifications
* Disclosure of Political Appointments
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
* Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
* Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee
* EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DoD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.
* The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF
* Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
* The duties of this position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing
* The capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively.
* This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,") Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: applying Knowledge of adjudication standards and mastery of credentialing standards in determining suitability and fitness for federal employment. Resolves major conflicts in policy and program objectives and uses comprehensive knowledge of security policy requirements to function as technical authority in assignments requiring the application of new theories and developments to security problems in absence of governing directives.
Plus Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships and proficiency in information, personnel, and industrial security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in
-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE:
Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE,
