Hiring Range: $25.50-$29.96. The maximum pay for this position is $34.42.
The Program Support Specialist provides customer service focused on complex program service information, account status, appointment availability and scheduling, EBT cards, Vital Records, and fiscal responsibilities. Also, applies specific fiscal and program knowledge and skills to support the Public Health and Environment and Human Services departmental needs.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday- 8am to 5pm, with occasional non-traditional hours.

Essential FunctionsProvides Quality Programs and Services - 100%
- Handle complex customer service inquiries and apply judgment in resolving concerns falling within established limits of authority and knowledge.
- Knowledge of extensive Economic services programs and Public Health clinical protocol is essential to disseminate and resolve client concerns or to refer them to the appropriate resource for resolution.
- Provide client appointment scheduling, complete clinic paperwork with the appropriate medical coding, create client billing and payment of services with established guidelines and authority.
- Maintain EBT card inventory (Electronic Benefit Transfer cards) and issue the cards following state rules. Prepare and send in EBT issuance reports weekly. Cash reconciliation daily.
- Issue Vital Records upon request and within posted hours of operation and according to state statute.
- Provide support to other County departments, building maintenance, and external agencies/partners in a timely and efficient manner.
- Able to work autonomously with little supervision.
- Assesses the literacy of populations served and uses multiple methods to communicate information and services available within the community.
- Knowledge of the community, services, and programs available to assist and connect customers.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification, or Registration:
- Preferred Education - Some college or any combination of both High School and College
- Minimum Experience - 1 year or more of experience working in Public health, administrative, customer services or related experience
- Bilingual, Spanish and English required
- Ability to travel between offices and off-site locations
- Preferred Experience - 2 year or more of experience working in Public health, administrative, customer services or related experience
- Analytical skill to articulate and solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel), Adobe, and Google Platforms
