Overview

  • Ensures the timely and accurate supervision of cage operations, including supervision of cashiering staff and the receipt, distribution, exchange, transfer, inventory and balancing of money/assets.
  • Supervises cage operations in compliance with the State of Colorado Regulation, ICMPs and other applicable municipal, state and federal laws or regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Supervises Guest Service Representatives in the timely and accurate receipt, distribution, exchange, transfer, inventory and balancing of money/assets.
  • Hires, trains, schedules, rewards and disciplines staff to develop an effective team.
  • Ensures staff accurately counts and verifies customer winnings and requests to exchange or receive cash.
  • Maintains compliance with departmental policy, State of Colorado Regulations, ICMP and other applicable laws.
  • Completes and maintains a record of daily or scheduled reports on cage operations and non‑compliance issues.
  • Writes and maintains cage procedures.
  • Determines the correct amount and denomination assortment of cash to maintain in the cage and vault to cover demand until the next drop.
  • Knows the on‑hand cage/vault cash inventory at all times.
  • Ensures the cage has the proper amount of controlled forms and supplies each day.
  • Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directly supervises the activities of Guest Service Center team members.
  • Mentors and develops the department, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and building an effective team dynamic.
  • Plans growth opportunities for team members who display the necessary skills, motivation and attitude to progress within the company.
  • Provides for fair and equitable treatment of all team members.
  • Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviews, trains team members; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines team members; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Performs reviews, fills out SCS, authorizes vacations, etc.

Address any scheduling conflicts, payroll discrepancies, etc.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school graduate or equivalent; three‑to‑six month’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years casino cage operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years casino gaming management/cage management.
  • Cash handling experience and knowledge of debit vs. credit accountability system.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Able to read, comprehend, and interpret simple instructions, correspondence, memos, and documents such as safety rules, operating manuals and procedures and maintenance instructions.
  • Able to write routine simple correspondence.
  • Able to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to guests and team members.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in small units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Able to apply common sense, patience and understanding while carrying out detailed written and/or oral instructions.
  • Able to deal with and present problem‑solving ideas that involve concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Colorado Gaming Support License is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a Colorado Gaming KEY license within 1 year of employment.
OTHER

SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Strong guest service skills and the ability to ask questions and apply deductive reasoning and listening skills are essential.
