Science and Technology Corporation (STC) is seeking a Drawing Control Specialist to support Flight Operations Engineering (Code 430) at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. This role is focused on engineering drawing control, configuration management, and records governance in support of aircraft operations, flight research, and experimental systems.
The position is intended for an experienced, detail-oriented practitioner who understands the importance of drawing integrity, revision control, and compliance with Center standards. While CAD tools are used to execute the work, the primary value of this role is ownership of drawing control processes

- Serve as a drawing control focal
, ensuring engineering drawings are created, revised, released, archived, and maintained in accordance with NASA Armstrong policies and procedures - Convert informal and formal sketches, redlines, and engineering inputs into AFRC-compliant controlled drawings
, schematics, details, and formal sketches - Assign, track, and manage drawing numbers and associated metadata
- Control and document engineering drawing revisions
, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and configuration integrity - Incorporate engineering redlines and markups into released drawings while maintaining revision history
- Perform engineering records management
, including archival, retrieval, scanning, and historical drawing preservation - Process, hyperlink, manage, and close engineering work orders
, including those containing attachments and supporting documentation - Maintain engineering wiring lists and associated controlled documentation
- Execute drawing control implementation in alignment with Center configuration management practices
- Participate in and support process improvement initiatives related to drawing control, documentation flow, and records accuracy
- When approved by the COR, support creation and control of wiring schematics, printed circuit board layouts, and flexible circuit documentation
- Provide mentorship or informal training to peers and engineers on drawing control practices, standards, and procedures, as appropriate
- 100% onsite at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center
- Office and engineering support environment
- Standard first-shift schedule; flexibility may be required to support mission needs
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational education preferred)
- 10–15 years of directly relevant experience in drawing control, configuration management, engineering documentation, or technical records support
- Demonstrated experience managing controlled engineering drawings
, revisions, and release processes - Working knowledge of engineering standards, drafting conventions, and document control workflows
- Proficiency using CAD software as a drawing control and documentation tool (not design-engineering focused)
- Strong attention to detail, organizational discipline, and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with engineers, technicians, and project teams
- Prior experience supporting NASA, aerospace, or flight research programs
- Familiarity with AFRC engineering documentation standards and processes
- Experience with electrical wiring documentation or systems drawings
