This is a principal Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer position, focusing on the design, build, test, analysis, and in-orbit operation of GNC systems for rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking (RPOD) spacecraft. The role sits at the intersection of autonomy, robotics, and space domain awareness, and is critical for enabling advanced in-space manoeuvres and sustained orbital operations in a fast-paced engineering environment.
About the Company:A mission-driven, innovative space technology company developing robotic spacecraft for agile and responsive in-orbit operations. The culture is engineering-led, collaborative, and values humility, credibility, and pride in work.
- Opportunity to work on technically challenging RPOD missions with real, in-orbit impact, including the historic rescue of the SWIFT telescope.
- High level of ownership across the full lifecycle, from concept/algorithm design through to space operations.
- Flat, collaborative engineering culture working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related discipline
- Extensive (significantly more than 2+ years) industry experience in GNC, with end-to-end, real mission (not purely academic) RPOD expertise; have led successful missions through phasing and docking (ideally with NASA, Space
X, or similar). - Technical competence in GNC with exposure to related flight software (Python, C/C++ a plus)
- Comfort in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments; true "builder" mentality.
