SALARY RANGE & CATEGORY: $44,000 - $65,853 on Teacher Salary Schedule
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
WORK CALENDAR: 167 days
FTE: 1.0 (Full-time with benefits; 4-day school week Tuesday – Friday)
Position SummaryThe Elementary Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that promotes academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and foundational skill development. The teacher will create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports the whole child.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum- Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned to Colorado Academic Standards.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Implement evidence-based early literacy and numeracy practices.
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
- Integrate technology appropriately to enhance learning.
- Establish a positive, structured classroom environment.
- Promote social-emotional learning and positive behavior supports.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, interventionists, and support staff.
- Participate in MTSS, IEP, and 504 meetings as appropriate.
- Engage in professional learning communities (PLCs).
- Maintain current licensure.
- Participate in professional development.
- Follow district policies and procedures.
- Support district and building improvement goals.
- Adhere to standard practices and ethical conduct toward all stakeholders.
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education preferred.
- Currently hold a Colorado teaching license with the correct endorsement or have licensure application in process.
- Hold a Colorado Substitute Teaching License if Teacher License not completed.
- Experience teaching upper elementary grades.
- Experience with data analysis and MTSS frameworks.
- Knowledge of structured literacy and math intervention strategies.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- Knowledge of upper elementary curriculum and academic standards.
- Strong instructional planning and classroom management skills.
- Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction.
- Ability to differentiate for varied academic levels.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to foster independence and accountability in students.
Physical Requirements
- Classroom setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent walking, bending, and classroom movement.
- Occasional evening events (parent conferences, school activities).
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policy and the Colorado Teacher Evaluation System.
