SCOE Background Info:
- Located in Larkspur, CO (40 miles south of Denver, 30 miles north of Colorado Springs).
- Monument, CO, has most of your amenities and is 15-20 minutes away
- Our program runs Monday-Friday. There are two sessions each week, Monday-Wednesday and Wednesday-Friday.
- The majority of student groups we work with are in 5th - 6th grade, and the average group size is approximately 60-70 students.
- Two main responsibilities as a Program Instructor:
Field Instructor and Cabin Supervisor.
- Provide a fun and safe environment for all students and clients.
- Teach activity groups of 12-15 students in an outdoor classroom setting, and deliver lesson plans that cover various topics such as Science, Outdoor Education, and Leadership.
- Instructors are trained in all class modules (outdoor education, science, team building & leadership), and will receive site specific training similar to a Level 1 ACCT standard in order to help run our challenge courses.
- Provide overnight student supervision for one session during the week. Monday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Friday.
- Daily set-up and takedown of classrooms and activities. Provide a clean slate, and organized classroom/teaching space for following instructors.
- Provide support and student supervision during meal times.
- Instructors are responsible for managing broader behavioral issues & addressing homesickness with students, and coordinating with High School student volunteers while the program is in session.
- Provide mentorship to High School student volunteers.
- Be at least 21 years old
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of related experience.
- CPR and First Aid Certified (First aid certification will be provided during the training for those who are not already certified.)
- Pass a criminal background check
- Ability to work with and supervise school age students in an outdoor classroom environment & enjoy working with young people!

Salary: $130/day In-Cabin rate, $100/day Out-of-Cabin rate
Average Weekly Pay: $500-$560
Paid monthly on the 20th
Open Until Filled
All seasonal staff will be paid for their time worked, on the 20th of the following month. All work performed in August will be paid out on SEP 20 and so forth. New employee advances are still an option if requested.
PERA - As a government employee you are enrolled into PERA automatically. This is in place of social security and is deducted from your paycheck at about 11% instead of 6-7% that is social security. You can cash this out after as a taxable event if you are moving on to another job that is not affiliated with PERA
