The Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork (WSRF) is seeking a qualified 1st grade class teacher for the school year. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated teacher who has either completed or is willing to complete Waldorf teacher training.
AboutWaldorf School on the Roaring Fork is located in the Rocky Mountains of Western Colorado close to Aspen. We are an established Waldorf school with a dedicated and professional faculty, robust student body of over 200 children, supportive board, and a comprehensive toddler through 8th grade Waldorf curriculum.
Set on thirteen acres along the Roaring Fork River, our campus is all straw bale construction and designed based on Steiner’s architectural indications, providing a beautiful space for our faculty and children to thrive.
Accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and a member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN), WSRF’s mission is “ to inspire the spirit of the child and elicit academic excellence through educational artistry.”
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons rooted in the oral tradition.
- Create rhythmic, engaging instruction that integrates academic, artistic, and social-emotional learning.
- Differentiate instruction to support individual student needs using inclusive and culturally responsive practices.
- Maintain a respectful, organized classroom environment aligned with Waldorf principles.
- Collaborate with subject teachers, student support, faculty mentor, and Care group.
- Assess student progress and complete reports, block plans, and documentation.
- Communicate regularly with parents and lead class meetings and conferences.
- Prepare classroom materials, maintain displays, and support school events and festivals.
Professional Expectations:
- Participate in weekly faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
- Commit to ongoing study of Waldorf pedagogy and inclusive education.
- Uphold professionalism, collaboration, and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
- Waldorf Teacher Certification from an AWSNA-recognized institute or equivalent experience completed or a willingness to complete Waldorf teacher training.
- Strong understanding of and enthusiasm for Waldorf education.
- Commitment to professional growth and collaborative work.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and support for diverse learners.
- Must meet all background checks, fingerprinting
Salary Range: We offer a strong benefits package, competitive salary, and tuition remission. Our base salary for a trained teacher is currently $68,000 with yearly increments based on experience.
