Job Duties and Responsibilities Classroom Teaching
Co‑teach/assist with assigned classes.Exhibit mastery and enthusiasm for the assigned area of expertise and classes.Coordinate with lead teachers and implement an appropriately focused and balanced curriculum for each student which adheres to the school’s curriculum and standards.Prepare and develop activities, materials and lessons to meet the learning objectives (skills and content) of the curriculum and standards.Develop and maintain a well‑managed classroom where students are engaged, consistently challenged, and supported. Classroom policies should be consistent with school policies.Help maintain a clean, neat and presentable classroom.Engage families in their children’s education and to communicate regularly and effectively with students and families.Effectively utilize best practices in educational pedagogy and in TACT’s trades/autism philosophy.Demonstrate knowledge in the area of autism and classroom support.Work with SPED Coordinator to meet individual learning plan and IEP goals.Upholds and exhibits the values of TACT.Attentive to detail.Independence of action – employee is able to set and achieve goals independently, adhere to policies and procedures with limited guidance, although the managing director will provide overall direction & guidelines.Curriculum and Assessment
Assist in the on‑going development of the school’s curriculum and core performance standards and trade certifications.Submit an annual Unit Pacing Plan to your Director.Use assessment data to refine curriculum and instructional practices to help meet the school’s performance standards and expectations.Inform colleagues and Educational or Executive Director of any academic, behavioral, or personal difficulties that arise with students or families.School Life
Reinforce the school’s core values and policies inside and outside of the classroom.Participate in professional development sessions.Devote the necessary time and energy required to master the craft of teaching.To demonstrate initiative and provide evidence of your professional development towards becoming the best teacher you can be.To be open to and enthusiastically involved in innovative approaches to teaching, feedback from colleagues and school administration.Actively seek out growth opportunities that align with TACT’s Mission, Vision, and Values.Other
Job Responsibilities Participate actively in the school’s faculty meetings, team and department meetings.Arrive at TACT by 8:30 a.m. for the morning planning and stay until 4:00 p.m. or until daily responsibilities are fulfilled.Be punctual to all professional obligations.Conduct oneself and dress in a professional manner.Complete all other responsibilities deemed appropriate by your Directors to help the school achieve its goals.Manage budgeted dollars allocated to classroom expenditures via a purchase card.Job Qualifications
