Automotive Faculty Colorado Mountain College

Full time faculty positions begin in July 2025 with a 30-credit hour teaching load annually.

The successful candidate will teach all courses in the Automotive Service Technology Program. This position primarily teaches a diverse group of Salida High School students at the automotive facility located at Salida High School. This position also includes serving on campus and college-wide committees, student advising and performing other duties normally required of a full-time faculty member. Additional responsibilities may include collaborating college wide to expand the program;

continued development of current curriculum, participation on the program advisory committee, strengthen business and industry partnerships as well as the partnership with high school administration, and oversight of the automotive facility and equipment. Excellent organizational and leadership skills are essential.

Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teaching course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities.

CMC Faculty are expected to engage in service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Qualified candidates must be credentialed, or eligible to be credentialed, to teach in this program. Examples of ideal qualifications include: minimum required:
Bachelor’s or higher degree: 2,000 hours of verified occupational (non-teaching) experience in the content area OR Less than a bachelor’s degree: 4,000 hours of verified occupational (non-teaching) experience in the content area OR Three (3) years verified teaching experience in the content area (full-time is defined as 51% or more of a teaching schedule dedicated to teaching in the content area) course delivery may include a mix of live in-person/livestream, hybrid asynchronous/synchronous, and with the use of video-conferenced software modalities available to students throughout the College district OR No postsecondary education: 10,000 hours of verified occupational (non-teaching) experience in the content area within the last 7 years.

The successful incumbent has experience in a various instructional modalities using a learning management system (LMS) like Canvas.

Hiring range = $77,575.25 - $94,486.59 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill and experience.

Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
