Location: Cañon City

Start Date: Anticipated July 30th for the  School Year

Position Type: Full-time, 169 days per year

Location: Cañon City High School

Salary: Pay for this position is determined by the 169-day Teacher Salary Schedule and based on education and experience. Salary Range $45,186-$77,720.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with Secondary Mathematics endorsement or ability to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of the 9-12 mathematics curriculum with the ability to instruct all levels.
  • Teachers of Record or Residency Teachers are eligible to apply.
  • Must pass the Praxis exam by December of current school year.
  • Strong knowledge of 9-12 Math curriculum with the ability to instruct all levels.
  • Ability to create a positive learning environment for students.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strength in varied instructional strategies in Math and awareness of computer application uses in curriculum.
  • Understanding of standards and various assessment applications.
  • Ability to provide assessments and intervention for students with performance concerns.
  • Ability to establish a strong rapport with students, parents, and staff.
  • Possess skills to be able to utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively, such as learning Management Systems, Schoology.
  • Ability to sponsor or coach a variety of activities/athletics is an asset.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students and the public.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, speak and listen to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
  • Integrity, trust and work ethic to be able to work with little supervision.
  • Competent understanding of technology to perform the job.
  • Ability to perform light lifting and moving of product (up to 50lbs).
  • Implements appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of district data.
  • Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications.
  • Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel.
  • Follows all board policies for acceptable use of district technology.
  • Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Teachers are held to high expectations for their performance to ensure the success of the individual and the District in serving students and the community. Teachers are held to the District’s Licensed Personnel Performance Evaluation System that consists of the State’s Quality Standards, elements, and performance indicators which point to fulfillment of the teaching responsibility. A teacher’s demonstrated effectiveness is based on the following standards:

:
Teachers establish a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.

:

:
Teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership.
