Overnight Camp Instructors

Avid4 Adventure has empowered kids to live active outdoor lifestyles for over 20 years.

  • Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1st-5th) – Evergreen, CO
  • Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6th-12th) – Bailey, CO
Important Details

Work schedule:

Overnight camps operate 24/7 with one evening off per week.

Position duration:
Training May 16–29; programs run May 31–August 1.

Compensation:
Pay based on position, responsibilities, certifications, and tenure.

  • Instructors: $440/week
  • Specialists: $462–$528/week
  • End‑season bonuses for certifications: $125–$400 per certification

Candidates may receive a Wilderness First Aid certification during training; must be 20+, drive a van, and work at Windy Peak Camp.

Job Duties
  • Provide 24‑hour support, safety, and comfort for participants.
  • Co‑lead daily outdoor programming (mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, SUP, Leave No Trace).
  • Organize and participate in camp programming ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals.
  • Follow and educate campers on safety protocols.
  • Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants.
  • If a trained driver, transport up to 13 campers to and from program areas with company passenger vans.
  • Candidates with increased experience in core sports may serve as a program area expert (Specialist) supporting multi‑sport camps or instructing single‑sport camps in climbing, mountain biking, whitewater paddling, or survival skills.
Your Background
  • Must be at least 18 years old by the start of camp for all positions.
  • Drivers must be at least 20 years old, have a 3‑year valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
  • +1 year of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting preferred.
  • Experience in core sports highly preferred but not required for all positions (required for Specialists).
  • Minimum of Basic First Aid, CPR, and Mandatory Reporter certification by the start of camp.
