Work as a team member under the direction of the school principal. This position requires developing and implementing daily lesson plans based on Colorado state standards and student needs. The teacher will observe and evaluate children’sperformance, behavior, and social development through progress monitoring. The interventionist will be an integral member of the MTSS team and work collaboratively with teacher teams to develop intervention groups and schedules.
The teacher will instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students' varying needs. The position requires planning, explicit instruction, data monitoring and reporting and development of learningactivities for a balanced program of instruction for students’ diverse backgrounds and abilities. This position requires a high degree of collaborative communication and leadership. It also requires substantial organizational and time management skills.
The teacher must be able to work collaboratively with fellow teachers. The teacher is expected to participate in district development of curriculum and instruction.
- Be licensed by the State of Colorado as a Teacher.
- Be familiar with the State of Colorado Academic Standards for ELA.
- Be familiar with CMAS state assessments and local assessments that can be used to evaluate student progress
- Knowledge and experience with the investigative reading approaches preferred.
- Be able to work effectively with 5th thru 8th grade students as a READING specialist... And work effectively with the middle school staff and administration, parents and community members.
- Demonstrate successful teaching experience with middle school aged students as well as a personalcommitment to constant improvement as a teacher.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward teaching and learning and the ability to collaborate with school leadership and teacher teams for improved student outcomes.
- Ability to work with and create a positive rapport with students, their families and the general public
- A commitment to work within the philosophy, standards, curriculum, scope, and sequence of the Schooland District
- Ability to work with all levels of students in a heterogeneous classroom setting
- Have experience with MTSS and the RtI process.
- Progress monitoring for all assigned intervention students.
- The interventionist is expected to participate in district development of curriculum and instruction.
- Successful teaching experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with multiple endorsements or Special Education
- Experience using technology to support instruction
