SENIOR CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR
We are looking for a Senior Estimator familiar with the experience in the Oil & Gas Pipeline industry in Longmont, CO. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate development of bids and proposals to manage and construct Oil & Gas pipelines such as Mainline Pipelines, Gathering Systems, ILI & DOT Change-Outs, Meter Stations, and Pump Stations. The Senior Estimator should have practical field knowledge, as well as excellent communication and organization skills.

* Salary Range: $140,000 - $165,000
* Paid Personal Time Off (PTO):

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Build and submit estimates (bids):
* Review RFP packages provided by the client
* Review work requirements with local operations management
* Research and define cost elements related to project construction including labor, equipment, materials and subcontractors
* Identify risks and plan contingencies
* Prepare written proposals outlining clarifications, exceptions and assumptions
* Present final draft to management for final determination and risk assessment
* Submit approved bid to customer on time
* Attend customer scheduled pre-bid meetings:
* Notate essential topics of discussion at the meeting
* Attain a thorough understanding of the scope of work including desired construction methods, project timelines and customer expectations
* Ask project related questions and record customer response
* Visit job location to assess site conditions and assess constructability
* Project Management/Post-award follow-up:
* Provide job related documentation to field operations, project management staff and administrative staff as needed
* Participate in contract pre-planning meetings
* Assist in preparing and submitting project/contract deliverables to the customer as required by the contract and Mears Energy internal requirements
* Proactively identify known or anticipated construction problems and suggest solutions to minimize cost and mitigate risk
* Assist field personnel in developing and/or recommending change orders as needed
* Negotiate positive resolutions with customer on any disputes that may arise
* Maintain files as back-up for estimate figures
