Adena Corporation is hiring a Superintendent to join our team in Gunnison, Colorado! This position is responsible for the daily on-site management of construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, safety protocols, and quality standards. This role coordinates field activities, manages subcontractors, and supports the overall project goals from preconstruction through closeout.

Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assists with the development of schedule, phasing, and logisticsAssists with constructability review, when requiredAssists with the development of bid packages and scopes of workAssists with the bid, awarding, and procurement of subcontractors and suppliersResponsible for leading, directing, and coordinating the day-to-day field activities of the project including subcontractor management, project cost controls, and implementation of project scheduleEnsures adequate manpower on the projectDirects field forces according to schedule and phasing planCoordinates project deliverablesProperly manages time and material workUnderstands project budgets and manages field expenses based on budgetParticipates in monthly schedule updatesProduces and distributes look ahead schedules based on project schedulesEnsures quality control program is implemented including punch listActively resolves field issuesProduces daily reports and gathers subcontractor daily reportsParticipates in OAC meetingsChairs regular foreman meetings and ensures minutes are takenProperly maintains and files project documentsEnsures the correct documents are available in the fieldEnsures accurate as-built drawings are maintainedEnsures the security of jobsiteManages the permit and inspection process and all building code complianceReviews and understands the owner contract and the responsibilities of the agreementReviews and understands the subcontracts and PO’s executed for the projectTrains, mentors, and educates the Field Engineers and Assistant Superintendents working under the SuperintendentContinually analyzes and mitigates project riskEnsures compliance with all company policies and proceduresParticipates in RFQ/RFP responses as neededParticipates in project interviews as neededAssists with finding and developing future project opportunitiesAdheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environmentPerforms other duties as assignedPosition Requirements

Skills:
High School diploma or GED requiredBachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred or the equivalent work experienceStrong computer experience including Microsoft Word and Excel required30 Hours OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain within ninety (90) days of employmentAdvanced ability to read building blueprintsVISTA accounting and project management software experience preferredMust maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving recordMust be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may require stays away from homeAbility to perform on a regular basis in outside weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dustStrong leadership abilitiesMust have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructionsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work in a team environmentEOE
