Compensation: Starting at $20/hour + 401(k) + PTO + Team Profit Sharing Bonus

Overview

The Front Desk Receptionist is the welcoming face and voice of Growing Spaces, providing a warm, professional, and reliable point of contact for visitors, callers, and guests. This role blends hospitality, organization, and clear communication to ensure everyone who interacts with Growing Spaces feels valued and well-supported- whether that’s greeting customers, answering phones, or assisting the team with essential administrative tasks.

As the first impression for many of our gardeners, families, partners, and vendors you play a vital role in shaping the customer experience. We expect each interaction to reflect professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness. Your ability to stay calm, friendly, and helpful sets the tone for the entire organization.

What You'll Do
  • Greet all visitors and customers with a friendly, professional, and engaging demeanor, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and well cared for.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls promptly and courteously, routing inquiries to the appropriate team members or departments.
  • Maintain a tidy, organized, and inviting reception area.
  • Support a seamless customer experience by anticipating needs and helping ensure every visitor leaves feeling heard, respected, and supported.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and support the team with special projects, event preparation, outgoing calls, customer follow-up, and other office tasks as assigned.
What You'll Bring
  • At least 1 year of experience in a receptionist, administrative, or customer service role.
  • Proven ability to create positive, welcoming interactions- even during busy or high- pressure moments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a clear, friendly and professional presence.
  • Genuine hospitality and customer care instincts, supported by strong emotional intelligence and composure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency with technology, including phone systems, email, and common office software (Word, Excel, Google Workspace).
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to support colleagues in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Interest or experience in gardening, sustainability, education- a plus, but not required.

  • Timely, accurate routing of inquiries and messages to the appropriate staff or departments.
  • A well-maintained, welcoming reception area and organized administrative systems that support smooth daily operations.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and consistency in maintaining scheduled hours and fulfilling responsibilities.

  • Standard office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
    , Monday through Friday. Preference will be given to candidates able to maintain consistent afternoon coverage 12:00 PM–4:00 PM
