Sr. Accountant

Description

Key Responsibilities

- Perform fund accounting for government related funds, including tracking revenue and expenses across multiple funds

- Maintain and reconcile approximately 15 debt service funds

- Record and track construction related fund activity and project expenditures

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

- Perform balance sheet and cash reconciliations

- Assist with revenue recognition and proper transaction classification

- Prepare and manage 1099 reporting and related tracking

- Maintain financial trackers and recurring accounting schedules

- Support month end close activities and general ledger maintenance

- Work closely with multiple internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting

Team Structure

The accounting team currently consists of three individuals including the Accounting Manager and a Project Accountant. This role will work closely with leadership and cross functional teams throughout the organization.

- Experience with government or nonprofit fund accounting

- Strong understanding of fund accounting and revenue recognition

- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations

- Ability to manage repetitive and detail heavy accounting tasks

- Experience working with multiple departments and stakeholders

- Net Suite experience preferred
