Fixed Asset Accountant – Capital Projects & ROI About the Role
We are seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join a fast-growing, capital-intensive organization. This role plays a critical part in managing fixed assets and supporting return-on-investment (ROI) analysis for capital projects and operational initiatives. The Fixed Asset Accountant position is highly collaborative and internal-facing, partnering closely with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate asset reporting and informed financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities of the Fixed Asset Accountant:Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalizations, disposals, transfers, and depreciation schedules.
Maintain accurate fixed asset records and ensure alignment with the general ledger and financial statements.
Perform ROI and cost-benefit analyses for capital expenditures and operational investments, delivering insights to leadership.
Support month-end and year-end close activities related to fixed assets and capital projects.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies related to asset accounting and capitalization.
Prepare reporting and analysis on asset utilization, depreciation, and ROI trends.
Assist with internal control development and process improvements related to asset management.
Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses related to fixed assets.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or capital-intensive environments.
Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, depreciation methods, capitalization policies, and ROI analysis.
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
CPA or CMA preferred, but not required.
Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
The Fixed Asset Accountant will play a key role in a growing organization with significant capital investment activity.
Exposure to both operational accounting and strategic financial analysis.
Collaborative accounting team with room to influence process improvements.
Competitive compensation and hybrid flexibility.
Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000
