Ground Software Engineer

Overview

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Software Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance to join the Stinger Program, to work from Littleton, CO or King of Prussia, PA. This is an MID-SR CAREER (level
4) role where candidates typically require 5+ years of experience and a BS degree. You will be part of an Agile team that uses state-of-the-art methodologies such as Dev Sec Ops , automated testing, continuous integration, and automated deployment. The team focuses on progressing system capabilities from early design through site acceptance with emphasis on software reuse, COTS/FOSS integrations, and innovative, affordable best practices.

Responsibilities

• As Ground Software Engineer, you will design, implement, test, and maintain object-oriented ground system software applications using Java, C#, C++, Angular, Python
• You will support modernization efforts geared toward achieving greater efficiency, security, automation and scalability
• You will collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, and test engineers using the Agile Development methodology

Requirements and qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Deep software development and software engineering background with a track record of successful project delivery
• Experience developing ground subsystems
• Cloud/containerization experience with a good understanding of distributed systems and designing for scalability
• Experience developing microservices
• Demonstrated expertise in Scaled Agile development methodologies, with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and teamwork across Agile Development Teams
• An active TS/SCI clearance is required for consideration

Desired Skills

• Meaningful experience designing and implementing software solutions using Java, C#, Python
• Proficient in using Git for version control and collaboration
• Working knowledge of Dev Sec Ops  pipelines
• Excellent understanding of Agile methodologies as they relate to the Scaled Agile Framework
• Experience with Agile, automated testing, CI/CD, and regression testing
• Strong problem-solving skills applied to software engineering solutions
• Previous experience delivering highly reliable communications/ground subsystems

Location and work arrangement

Onsite full-time: work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
