Secret Software Engineer ; Colorado Springs, CO & Huntsville, AL

Overview

Insight Global is hiring for multiple Software Engineers (levels 1-3) to support an R&D team working on mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have a background in math, physics or aerospace with extensive experience developing software in modern C++ within a Linux environment and an active DoD Secret security clearance or higher. This is a 6mo contract with likely extension and possible conversion to support the Prime on a large Missile Defense program.

Candidates can work onsite from Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO (no remote work).

• Develop and implement software capabilities for complex systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on requirements and solutions
• Support reviews of requirements and test cases
• Work in Unix/Linux environment with modern tools
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments

Pay Range:
Pay will be hourly and varies by level of experience and location. Average Range: ~$35-95/hr exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. • DoD Secret Clearance or higher (active or interim)
• Bachelor’s STEM degree and 2+ years of experience
• Software development in modern C++ (ideally version 17+)
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Python
• Strong Unix/Linux experience
• Automated software requirements testing and analysis
• Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using tools like Gherkin and Cucumber for automated acceptance testing
• Experience with Static & Dynamic Code Analysis Tools and fuzzing tools (Coverity, Fortify, Sonar Qube)
• Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). Experience with containerized application deployment in distributed environments
• CI/CD Tools (Jira, Git Hub/Git Lab, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, Coverity)
• Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, Code Quality, Static Analysis
• Experience developing software in a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment
• Strong Math/Physics Foundation
• Familiarity with battle management, missile defense and/or fire control systems
• Advanced Linux Scripting and Operations
• Familiarity with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)
• Experience with advanced tools:
