Location:

Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL. This position requires 100% onsite work at one of these locations. The selected candidate may be required to obtain access to an MDA facility, necessitating a background investigation by U.S. government authorities.

Position Responsibilities
  • Work with other industry partners as a key contributor to the design, development, and testing of Java-based applications in support of the C2

    BMC applications.
  • Support full software development lifecycle including generating design artifacts, implementing software changes, supporting design and code reviews, software testing, and resolution of issues found during testing.
  • Actively participate in agile planning and execution using established processes.
  • Software requirements and architecture development in support of MDS systems.
  • Develop, select, tailor and deploy integration and test processes, tools and metrics.
  • Execute and document integration and test activities and events.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • 2+ years of experience with backend development (Java, Spring, Oracle SQL, SQL Server).
  • 1+ year of experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other software architecture and design modeling techniques.
  • 1+ year of experience with Agile software development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles including OOP, design patterns, and testing/debugging techniques.
  • Experience using Eclipse, Maven, Gradle, and/or microservices in software development.
  • Experience with software performance optimization.
  • Experience using automated unit testing frameworks.
  • Security+ or equivalent certification within 60 days of starting.
  • Missile defense domain experience, but not required.
  • Knowledge of server‑side development and message passing.
  • Command and control system application development.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, recommend and develop solutions.

Summary Pay Range for Associate level: $86,700 - $117,300
Summary Pay Range for Experienced level: $107,100 - $144,900
Summary Pay Range for Senior level: $127,500 - $172,500
