Title
Principal Software Engineer
OverviewK ’s National Security Solutions team provides high‑end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This role will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical mission – protecting national security. The Principal Software Engineer will work on‑site at Schriever SFB, near Colorado Springs, CO, to support a front‑range operations and sustainment effort.
You will liaison with an IC customer and the Satellite Control Network to provide satellite support services to our mission‑critical customer, handling real‑time on‑orbit support, launch ascent support, and End‑of‑Life operations for all NOPS missions. The software team works in a state‑of‑the‑art dynamic environment to develop new containerized software and maintain existing software for diverse program needs.
- Maintain software used to establish connections for status & control of ground equipment.
- Provide Java software development, performing all aspects of software engineering support required to implement systems.
- Maintain software that handles scheduling of on‑orbit contacts and orbit calculations.
- Write software that supports launch operations with trajectory calculations for the Space
X and ULA vendors. - Provide support to team members primarily with Java development and utilizing the Spring Boot framework.
- Develop React‑based user interfaces for operator interaction.
- Assist writing microservices that interact with a variety of vendor interfaces for data processing.
- Deploy new containerized applications in Kubernetes environments.
- Assist with new customer requests by extending and enhancing existing capabilities and creating new ones where needed.

Basic Compensation$127,000 - $190,000 USD annually
Qualifications- Clearance: TS/SCI with a Polygraph
- Education:
Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field - Experience:
5 years of software engineering (development/coding) experience - Proficiency with Java programming language
- Knowledge with Spring Boot framework or similar experience
- Interpersonal
Skills:
Ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management, and other engineering personnel
