Position: JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Mission

Quantum is seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Software Developer to provide Software Development, Network and AWS Cloud support inside Quantum's Software Factory to DoD, MDA, BIA, OGA, and commercial customers for development and integration efforts associated with innovations for Space, Near Space, Space Control, Missile Defense Capabilities, resource management, and information operations supporting a myriad of customers and end users.

The ideal candidate is well-versed in programming fundamentals and is also eager to learn and adapt to new challenges. At Quantum, we value curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with peer developers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain software applications.
  • Learn and apply programming best practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality code.
  • Pair program and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues and work towards continuous improvement.
  • Actively engage in learning opportunities, both independently and through mentorship.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Programming, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree with a proven record of experience.
  • Up to 3 years of experience in industry-relevant software development.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and maintain this clearance level during their employment.
  • Solid understanding of programming fundamentals, including but not limited to: data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, debugging and problem-solving skills, version control (e.g. Git).
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and programming languages.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desired

Skills and Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, including developing, integrating, or deploying AI/ML-enabled capabilities.
  • Experience with web development technologies, including front-end and / or back-end frameworks, RESTful APIs, and web-based application architectures.
  • Exposure to designing and implementing automated CI/CD pipelines to build, test, and package applications into Docker container images for deployment across development, test, and production environments.
  • Hands-on experience working within Agile software development methodologies, including iterative development, sprint planning, backlog grooming, code reviews, and collaboration within cross-functional development teams.
  • AWS cloud engineering experience, including deploying, configuring, and maintaining applications and services in AWS, with familiarity in areas such as compute, storage, networking, security, and infrastructure-as-code or automation tools.
  • Strong planning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and task and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior communication skills and ability to work in austere conditions for limited periods.
  • Willing to travel as needed/ required.
