Position: TEMPORARY Watercraft Inspector & Decontaminator Crew Lead & NON Lead –Ruedi Reservoir.

Description Of Job

This posting is for both Lead and General Watercraft Inspector & Decontaminator. In supplemental questions please specify which you are applying.

Perform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities according to state regulations and standard protocols at Ruedi Reservoir near Meredith, Colorado. Early morning, evening & weekend work required.

Responsibilities
  • Non-Lead Inspector:
    Perform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities at Ruedi Reservoir; inspect boats launching and leaving the reservoir, with respect to invasive species such as zebra/quagga mussels; provide public outreach by distributing printed material to visitors.
  • Lead Inspector:
    Perform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities at Ruedi Reservoir; serve as site lead, provide on-the-job training to inspection staff, create schedules, ensure shifts are covered, verify timekeeping for payroll, and make hiring/firing recommendations to the Invasive Species Specialist. Ensure staff follow standardized protocols, perform monthly quality control assessments, maintain data entry accuracy, manage inventory of supplies, perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on the power washer/decontamination unit, and provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species.

    Early morning, evening, and weekend work is required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work weekends, holidays, early morning and late evenings.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Reliable and timely.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines and/or heavy equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and/or experience working with the public.
