Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a CO or compact license, cath lab experience, and call participation.
Responsibilities- Work in the acute care cardiac cath lab setting with 2 suites
- Typical patient population includes NSTEMI, STEMI, and TAVR workups
- Average of 2-6 cases per day
- Uses Epic EMR, experience preferred
- Shifts consist of 4x9 hour days with a rotating day off
- On-call required, averaging 8-10 days per month and 1 weekend call shift per month
- Night call usually from 4:30 pm to 7:00 am, averaging 4-5 weeknights per month
- 30-minute call response time required
- May float to Interventional Radiology if experienced
- Responsible for circulating and monitoring cath lab patients, including vital signs and administration of cardiac medications
- Will receive cath lab specific orientation
- Holiday call coverage may be required, but should not exceed one holiday per assignment
- Hospital provides scrubs for this position
- Orientation week requires clinician to be in-state, even if initial modules are remote
- Returning employees must not have been employed by the health system in the past year except PRN via outside firms
- Active CO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab RN experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
- Strong cardiac monitoring, EKG rhythm interpretation, and cardiac medication administration skills
- Experience using a balloon pump, Impella, and cath lab products preferred
- Driver’s license must be provided for radius verification
- References from a supervisor within last 12 months and a peer or supervisor from last 3 years required
- Must reside at least 60 miles away from the facility
