Job Title

- Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begin at hire)
- Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment)
- One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the completion of the initial three‑month introductory period of employment)

- Perform assessment intake and obtain personal history of residents
- Assess and refer residents to appropriate resources and agencies
- Maintain accurate written case notes for each resident interviewed
- Follow all policies and procedures of the center
- Meet with assigned families weekly for updates and guidance
- Distribute supplies and other belongings to clients
- Search belongings in a proper manner and maintain records in a timely, accurate, and orderly manner
- Participate in training as required by the Social Services Director
- Maintain required records related to grant administration
- Give highest priority to welfare of each resident and manage step/phase program
- Provide input to needed educational programming
- Cooperate with other center staff and volunteers and maintain a professional attitude and appearance
- Actively support the mission and goals of The Salvation Army
- Associate degree in Human Services (required) and Bachelor’s preferred
- Minimum of one year in Case Management or a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information to small groups
- Demonstrate good judgment and act in a professional manner
- Maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines
- Work with people from diverse populations and reading/ writing in English
- Problem‑solving, listening, and organizational skills; multitask and prioritize according to deadlines
- Time management and file accuracy skills
- Software:
Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required; basic training for new software (Ulti‑Pro and others); create and maintain spreadsheets as needed
Minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in‑state driver’s license required; annual MVR processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies
Background CheckContinued employment contingent upon biennial background check processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies
Physical Requirements- Maneuver, remain stationary, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Operate telephone; lift 25 pounds; access and produce information from computer; understand written information
