General Functions: The Director of Donor Success & Engagement drives meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and corporate sponsors to maximize revenue and strengthen donor retention. This role ensures that every donor—individual, corporate, or foundation—experiences exceptional engagement and stewardship aligned with Pikes Peak United Way’s mission. The Director is a high performer focused on donor experience and thereby revenue growth, and engagement across campaigns, events, and giving programs.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, relationship-driven, data-savvy, and passionate about creating long-term community impact through philanthropy.

- Donor Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for mid-level and major donors, ensuring personalized communication, stewardship, and recognition. Build and maintain deep, trust-based relationships with corporate and individual donors to drive retention and growth. Partner with the PPUW Executive staff to engage high-value prospects in personalized giving conversations and strategic partnership opportunities.
- Work with Leadership to execute annual fundraising campaigns, workplace giving, and special donor initiatives to achieve or exceed annual revenue goals. Identify new funding opportunities, donor segments, and engagement strategies that expand United Way’s donor base. Collaborate on marketing and communications to design compelling appeals, campaigns, and donor materials that inspire giving.
- Donor Experience & Stewardship
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive donor journey strategy—from first gift through long-term loyalty. Coordinate donor touchpoints, events, and communications to deepen engagement and demonstrate impact. Track donor satisfaction, engagement, and giving trends through CRM data and feedback loops.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise donor success coordinators, campaign staff, or relationship managers to ensure cohesive execution of engagement strategies. Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, marketing, and program teams to align fundraising goals with community impact. Report progress on KPIs, revenue, and retention metrics to the direct supervisor and leadership team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in fundraising, account management, sales, or customer success, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
