Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Systems Administrator - Events Lead Sys Admin (26-101) to join our team of talented and diverse professionals. Based at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2
BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It is an essential operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense efforts, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to accomplish global and regional mission objectives.

BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both globally and regionally to enhance performance. C2
BMC is vital for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems. The System Administrator for Infrastructure Events at the C2
BMC X-Lab works in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. The X-Lab focuses on creating and integrating future missile defense system prototypes, such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Design, and other cutting-edge missile defense technologies.
Essential Functions:
* The Infrastructure Events Lead System Administrator's main responsibility is to support the development and integration of a prototype-lined mission suite to be used in a flight or ground test.
* Collaborate with and oversee a team to handle each part of the suite buildout and confirm its capacity to support the test fully
* The Infrastructure Events Lead System Administrator is responsible for supporting the integration of the XLAB infrastructure during each event, as well as overseeing the daily operations of the Windows/Linux environment and managing backup and recovery of system data
* This position is full-time onsite at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) on Schriever SFB, CO, and is not a remote work opportunity
* Non-standard work hours are probably required during event execution
Basic Qualifications:
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable. The following technical skills are the basic requirements for this position:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Network Systems Administration, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related discipline with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
* Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
* Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
* Knowledge of the Linux environment and experience with Linux administration
* System Security Implementations, Linux shell scripting, Windows Active Directory, Ansible Playbook development and management, or other competing automation solutions
