HX5 is currently seeking a Linux System Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems
- Ensure system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and documentation practices
- Make recommendations to plan, develop and execute work plans that achieve critical-path requirements
- Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs and appropriate tools/software to identify problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting actions
- Provide timely updates to appropriate team leads, managers and stakeholders on status of tasks and troubleshooting efforts
- Install, configure, and manage RHEL and other Linux-based systems
- Assist integration leads and managers in problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation as needed
- Advise team members and leadership and make appropriate technical recommendations regarding system development issues and improvements, optimization tools and methods, process creation and development, and support efforts.
- Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problem and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems
- Perform evening shift work and weekend duty as needed to meet off-hour mission activities
This position is expected to pay $110,000 - $125,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
Education and Experience:- Must have 8, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
- li>May be reduced with completion of advanced education
- Have experience working with Ansible automation
- Have experience configuring and managing Net App storage devices
- Have experience with security patching and software management using RHEL Satellite
- Have network troubleshooting experience
- Have knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations
- Have a degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline
Position Requirements :
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain the required level clearance by date of hire.
