Our K team in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking an Associate Dev Ops Engineer. This role is pivotal in integrating cloud technologies with Dev Ops practices, requiring a blend of technical skills and operational acumen.
As an Associate Dev Ops Engineer you will directly impact the success of our projects and the overall business outcomes.
- Innovative Projects:
Working on prototype projects that support the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory’s missions. AFRL is the primary scientific research and development center for the Air Force. - Collaborative Environment:
Rapid prototyping environment empowering engineers to make high level decisions, live Agile values, prioritize development team autonomy, face-to-face communication, and working code over processes. - Impactful Work:
Direct support to the Air Force in expanding national capabilities. AFRL collaborates with leading experts across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, National Laboratories, industry, inter‑agency, academia, and partner nations.
- Build and deploy Helm charts to Kubernetes clusters
- Develop Git Lab CI/CD pipelines to build, scan, publish, and deploy containers and Helm charts
- Troubleshoot failed deployments and pipelines
- Containerize custom applications
- Design high-level architecture for cloud‑native networks and systems
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support a variety of tech stacks

- Security Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. government Top Secret clearance with SCI SI/TK (U.S. citizen only). - Education:
B.S. in Computer Science. Other degrees considered with relevant work experience or certification. - Experience building Helm charts and Kubernetes API objects.
- Experience writing Docker files and containerizing applications.
- Experience with GNU/Linux commands, shell navigation, and Git version control.
- Ability to research and solve complex technical problems independently.
- Cloud certifications such as AWS CCP, AWS CSA, Azure SAE, Azure AA.
- Competence in building pipelines, preferably with Git Lab.
- Experience delivering cloud‑native applications.
- Experience with AWS or Azure services (EKS, EC2, IAM, S3).
- Competence in secret management technologies (Helm Secrets, Sealed Secrets, SOPS).
- Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC flows, or Key Cloak.
- Experience with IaC tools, especially Terraform.
- Experience deploying to air‑gapped networks.
- Experience with Cert Manager, OpenSSL, and public key infrastructure.
Basic Compensation: $76,700 - $115,000 (Colorado Springs only). Compensation will be based on selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and internal parity.
