Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Reports to: Director of Business Services

Salaried or Hourly: Salaried

FLSA Status: Exempt

Supervisory: Human Resources Specialist

Work Hours:

40 hours per week

Annual Days: 261

Salary: $65,000-$70,000 (commensurate with experience).

General Purpose

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of comprehensive recruiting strategies to attract, hire, and retain top talent in alignment with the school’s mission and ensures that the entire human resources operation is conducted efficiently and effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment and Retention

  • Oversee and lead the school’s talent acquisition process to hire, develop, and retain top quality staff whose values align with the school’s mission and philosophy.
  • Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies to ensure a robust and diverse applicant pool for all openings.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process to include job postings, pre-screening, scheduling, hiring, and on- boarding that provides a superior candidate experience.
  • Maintain up-to-date job descriptions for all personnel and implement a system for regular review and revision.

Personnel and Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises and provides guidance regarding the employment process, life-cycle recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Work with administration and provides guidance in dealing with violations and grievances.
  • Review and recommend compensation strategies within the organization.
  • Supervise and direct daily workflow of the HR specialist.
  • Research, develop, and update the organization’s policies and guidelines.

On-going Training and Development

  • Collaboratively plan, implement, and support professional development as part of the school-wide plan.
  • Lead the analysis of employee feedback and data as directed by administration.
  • Participate in professional activities to enhance knowledge and share expertise with colleagues.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and recent technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to administration.
  • Monthly benefit reconciliation.

Strategic Planning

  • Serves as a strategic resource regarding recruitment solutions, employee retention, performance management, workforce planning, employee relations, training needs, and compensation.
  • Collaborate with leadership to understand the organizational goals and strategies related to staffing, recruitment, and retention.
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends to develop long and short-term goals.
  • Communicate a clear vision of excellence and continuous improvement consistent with the school’s mission.
  • Engage in the benefit renewal process.

Promote School Involvement

  • Positively represent the school and its mission to students, parents, colleagues, and the public.
  • Proactively identify and implement talent pipelines, including but not limited to internet recruiting, networking, social media, career fairs, open houses, employee referral programs, college recruiting, community outreach, and print publications.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or other business discipline.
  • Professional HR certification desired.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent and clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; collaborative style.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.
  • Proven knowledge of Federal and State legal compliance.

Experience

  • Have demonstrated administrative, human resource, or supervisory experience.
  • At least three years of experience at an administrative or supervisory level preferred.
  • Experience in school setting or non-profit preferred.
