The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, interested in working full-time, and focused on excellent patient care.
The APP will support 6 full-time neurosurgeons as part of a collaborative team of 9 NPs/PAs. This is a 100% inpatient and operative role with no outpatient responsibilities.
The UCHealth Medical Group is physician led and employs nearly 2,000 physicians and advanced practice providers who aim to anticipate and address patients every health need. This position is ideal for an APP seeking hands-on operative experience, exposure to high-acuity neurosurgical care, and a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities- Inpatient management of neurosurgical patients across ICU, PCU, and floor.
- Daily rounding and management of neurosurgical consults.
- First assisting in the operating room.
- Participation in procedures with a high level of APP autonomy (no resident coverage).
- Day, night, weekend, and holiday coverage on a rotating schedule.
- Rotational shifts including days and nights.
- Inpatient shifts: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (or overnight equivalent).
- OR shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
General - Background in Neurosurgery, Trauma, and Acute Care. New graduates are welcome to apply; training and mentorship provided.
Physician Assistants - Master s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies;
Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Colorado; PA-C certification (NCCPA) required for hire and maintained;
Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe;
Eligible for Medicare/Medicaid provider status;
No sanctions/exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA;
Unrestricted medical staff membership with practice privileges;
Prescriptive authority as appropriate; BLS certification.
Nurse Practitioners - Full or provisional prescriptive authority eligibility;
Master s degree in Nursing and accredited NP program; ANCC or AANPCB certification;
Unrestricted NP license or compact privileges;
Unrestricted medical staff membership with practice privileges;
Full prescriptive authority;
Unrestricted DEA permit;
Eligible for Medicare/Medicaid;
No sanctions/exclusions; BLS certification.
- Salary range for this full-time position is $119,600 - $156,796 annually, based on experience.
- Annual Quality Value Incentive Plan (QVIP) up to $10,000.
- Relocation bonus up to $10,000, if eligible.
- Paid malpractice, CME up to $3,500 and up to 5 days annually.
