Peer Support Specialist – ACT Team
Jetwing | $18/hour | Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Have you walked the path of recovery and want to help others do the same? Diversus Health is looking for a Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, where lived experience is essential.

What You’ll Do- Provide peer-to-peer support grounded in empathy, respect, and recovery
- Engage individuals through outreach, education, and real-world skill building
- Help navigate community resources and strengthen natural supports
- Collaborate with clinicians while maintaining ethical peer boundaries
- Document services and participate in team meetings and trainings
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Lived experience with mental illness and/or substance use recovery OR family experience supporting a loved one
- Active COPA Peer Specialist Certification (required)
- NAMI Peer Provider Training completed
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel in the community
- Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency

The Peer Support Specialist– Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is a core member of Diversus Health’s multidisciplinary ACT Team, providing community-based peer services to adults with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). ACT is an evidence-based model designed to support individuals with complex behavioral health needs, often including symptoms of psychosis and co-occurring conditions by delivering services in real-world settings that promote stability, recovery, and community integration.
The peer specialist provides outreach, education, and peer-to-peer support services to individuals receiving care at Diversus Health. This role emphasizes engagement, skill-building, advocacy, and connection to resources using a strengths-based, solution-focused approach. Peer Support Specialists use their lived experience to model recovery, maintain healthy boundaries, and collaborate with clinical and community partners to support whole-person wellness.
Key Responsibilities- Peer Support & Engagement
- Provide peer-to-peer support grounded in lived experience, offering encouragement, empathy, and practical guidance.
- Demonstrate compassion, dignity, and respect while maintaining clear and appropriate professional boundaries.
- Utilize active and reflective listening skills to engage individuals and support recovery goals.
- Model wellness, resilience, and recovery strategies while maintaining personal wellness and recovery plans.
- Work within ethical guidelines and boundaries of a peer professional

- Conduct outreach to individuals and communities to provide basic education on mental health and substance use.
- Support individuals in developing skills that promote independence, self-advocacy, and community integration.
