Position Summary

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at Peaks Recovery Centers (PRC). Overnight shift 8PM‑6AM, working within a structured and safe environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Patient Support:
    • Provide hospitality and support to all patients within scope of practice.
    • Conduct facility tours and accompany patients to appointments.
    • Facilitate on‑site admissions: obtain consents, perform property searches and complete documentation.
    • Orient patients to handbook, schedules, and expectations.
    • Socialize with patients, maintaining professional boundaries while offering emotional support.
    • Lead and engage patients in recreational activities, group exercises, and wellness programs.
    • Participate in meals and informal interactions to build rapport and monitor well‑being.
    • Encourage participation in structured activities and provide motivation.
  • Medical Assistance:
    • Assist nurses during intakes and basic medical tasks.
    • Collect urine samples per policy.
    • Ensure patients attend scheduled medical and therapy appointments.
    • Support medication administration as trained; QMAP certification required.
    • Assist with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments when certified.
    • Document all interactions and observations accurately.
  • Facility Operations:
    • Conduct safety checks and rounds per protocols.
    • Escort patients within the facility and to external appointments or outings.
    • Perform regular room searches to ensure safety and compliance.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of interactions.
    • Assist with facility upkeep, including garbage removal and area cleaning.
  • Crisis Intervention:
    • Deliver support during crises within scope of practice.
    • Notify staff and coordinate with interdisciplinary team for emergencies.
  • Team

    Collaboration:

    • Attend staff meetings, training, and supervision.
    • Model ethical behavior and professionalism.
    • Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to address patient needs.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Maintain supplies and report maintenance issues.
    • Conduct bed checks during overnight shifts.
    • Provide transportation for patients using company vans.
  • Center‑Wide Duties:
    • Maintain patient confidentiality per Colorado law.
    • Complete EMR documentation timely and accurately.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and PRC policies.
    • Support PRC Vision, Mission, Values, and Core Values.
    • Complete administrative paperwork, competency training, and policy reviews.
  • Misc. Duties as Assigned: Perform any additional duties as directed by supervision.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of college education preferred.
    • Experience in mental health, substance abuse, or related field preferred.
    • Peer Recovery Support or similar certification preferred.
    • CPR/First Aid certification required or to be obtained within 30 days.
    • Current Colorado Driver License required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport.
    • Exceptional observational and documentation skills.
    • Ability to work constructively in a team.
    • Flexibility for nights, weekends, and varying shifts.
    • Professional demeanor and adherence to ethical boundaries.
    • Ability to drive company vans (12‑15 seat).
    • Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
    • Proficiency in PRC EMR system.
Working Environment / Physical Activities
  • Frequent walking, standing, and physical activity during shifts.
  • Ability to run/jog in emergencies.
  • Ability to perform CPR chest compressions.
  • Ability to lift or assist patients with physical care tasks.
  • Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
