Responsibilities

As a Review Appraiser, you will utilize the Mercury Network for tracking residential real‑estate appraisals and reviews to ensure compliance with USPAP and FIRREA, as well as reasonableness of concluded values. You will interact with associates, management, clients, and vendors in a professional and tactful manner, work independently to address issues relating to an appraisal, and make sound recommendations to management regarding risk.

Communication of appraisal conclusions will be verbal and in writing.

Maintain current knowledge of regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.

Provide a critical role by ensuring appraisal values are reasonable and supportable, supporting sound credit‑risk management practices by protecting the bank’s collateral position and validating appropriate loan‑to‑value ratios during the underwriting process.

Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Associate’s degree or related work experience may substitute for education.
  • State appraiser certification or license in good standing (no disciplinary actions) in at least one of the bank’s primary market areas (Colorado, Kansas, or Missouri).
Preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of USPAP, FIRREA, and federal and state appraisal regulations.
  • Prior experience with a computerized real‑estate appraisal ordering/tracking system.
  • Proficient understanding of real‑estate valuation principles and procedures.
  • Prior bank experience.

    ability to grasp, push, pull, lift, bend, raise, and hold hands and arms overhead.
  • Ability to work overtime to the extent necessary (typically no more than 5%).
  • Office setting with traditional hours.
  • Must be able to work at a rapid pace for extended periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).
