Job Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Water Resources Engineer (PE) to spearhead the growth of our water resources department from our Cañon City or Colorado Springs office. This role runs in tandem with our Project Engineer position but focuses heavily on building and mentoring our water resources team. The successful applicant will be an incredibly experienced leader who knows how to tackle unique and specific issues with creative solutions while serving as the primary mentor for less experienced engineers and drafters.
You will be responsible for winning new work, maintaining long‑term client relationships, and managing large‑scale projects—including master drainage studies and complex floodplain analyses—from beginning to end.

- Enrolled as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Colorado.
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in any combination of site grading, drainage, floodplain studies (LOMC/FEMA), and environmental permitting.
- Proven Leadership Ability:
Experience acting as a direct supervisor, team leader, or sector leader. - Business Development Mindset:
Demonstrated ability to win new work and maintain long‑term relationships with clients and the community. - Technical Mastery:
Advanced proficiency in HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, CUHP, and related H&H software applications. - High‑Level Project Management:
Experience managing the scope, schedule, and budget for large, complicated projects.
- Experience in System Development:
Ability to work with company leadership on department strategy, goals, and budgets. - Advanced Expertise: A specific area of technical expertise that is of high value to the community or regional clients.
- Project Management:
Acting as a Project Manager with ultimate responsibility for quality and timelines.
