Application Engineer

The Application Engineer supports customers by understanding their imaging and sensing requirements and translating those needs into effective, customized solutions using advanced digital camera technologies. This role bridges customer engagement, technical solution design, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful application performance and customer satisfaction.

• Customer Technical Support: Engage with customers to gather application requirements, understand imaging challenges, and provide tailored technical guidance.
• Solution Design: Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to design and validate imaging system configurations that meet customer objectives.
• Prototype Development: Build, integrate, and test imaging hardware and software prototypes to demonstrate feasibility and performance against customer use cases.
• Performance Evaluation: Conduct detailed analysis and testing of imaging systems, including data acquisition, image quality characterization, and performance benchmarking.
• Documentation: Prepare technical reports, application notes, test plans, and solution documentation for internal reference and customer delivery.
• Training & Demonstrations: Provide product training, demonstrations, and technical workshops to customers, partners, or internal stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to refine product requirements based on market and customer feedback.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in technical customer support, applications engineering, or imaging system integration.
• Strong understanding of digital imaging principles (CCD/CMOS/SWIR), camera technology, and sensor interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with imaging hardware, test equipment, and diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly.

• Experience with custom camera/system design or embedded imaging platforms.
• Familiarity with optical systems, imaging sensor calibration, or high-speed camera technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
