Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal System Administrator OR Sr. Principal Systems Administrator to join the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) Program to implement and manage various development and mission environments inclusive of all associated hardware and software products. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with technical disciplines such as cybersecurity, hardware engineering, software engineering, and systems engineering to achieve successful outcomes and mission success.
This position requires a background with provisioning, integrating, and maintaining computer systems running Red Hat Linux.
- Perform as a Linux System Administrator for an enterprise classified network
- Provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software.
- Implement and manage HPE HPC clusters
- Respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, support development of corrective action and implement corrective actions
- Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management
- Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers, in written and oral format
- Principal:
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience OR Master
29s degree and 3 years of experience; 9 years of total experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree. - Sr. Principal:
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience OR Master
29s degree and 6 years of experience; 12 years of total experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree - Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application.
- Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists.
- Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
- IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+ CE) or greater.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8/9 OS
- Experience with Ansible
- Experience with Red Hat Identity Manager (IDM)
- Experience with Red hat Satellite Server configuration and usage
- Ability to travel 25% (CONUS or OCONUS)
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with ability to gain SCI
- Experience with Hewlett Package Enterprise High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster management solutions such as HPE CM
- Experience with various MPI implementations, Intel
MPI, OpenMPI, MPICH - Experience with Infini Band networks and the Infini Band protocol
- Experience with Nvidia CUDA libraries and GPUs
- Experience with job schedulers, such as Slurm or PBS
- Experience with global and parallel file systems, such as GPFS
- Experience with Data Diode/CDS security solutions
- Experience with Agile Methodologies and use of Atlassian tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence)
- Experience with Cameo or similar MBSE tools

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate e2 809s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
