Job Summary

K  is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at our Colorado Springs, CO Cygnet Heights office. The selected candidate will operate under the direct supervision of the Technical Operations Manager and support projects around ground‑based mobile satellite communication systems, software development, and radio frequency engineering. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for analyzing users’ requirements, concept of operations documents, and high‑level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.

Additionally, the Senior Systems Engineer will assist the Technical Operations Team with growth and development of the Systems Engineering

Functional Area

while leading junior systems engineers and interns within their functional.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high‑level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
  • Analyze system requirements and provide support to design and development activities.
  • Confirm system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties and conduct testing events.
  • Perform requirements analysis, decomposition, and allocation of requirements.
  • Provide Program Management support by tracking all program requirements and technical specifications, ensuring design and manufacturing processes support verification and validation.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Mentor others in the principles, techniques, processes, and procedures of Systems Engineering.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Provide technical support to application and tool development teams.
  • Coordinate with software architects and other technical delivery team members to overcome technical obstacles.
  • Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues or conflicts.
  • Communicate with other program personnel and government staff.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with at least ten (10) years’ experience with system requirements, system development and implementation, system testing, etc.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with eligibility to receive TS/SCI.
  • Ability to derive an understanding of stakeholder needs and functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness from system requirements.
  • Experience supporting system requirements and system integration at the enterprise level.
  • Experience following a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces.
  • Experience with Agile project management principles and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience supporting the federal government or DoW.

Salary Range: $137,130 - $205,695

The salary range posted is for Colorado Springs, CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
