Overview
We are seeking a Senior Level Physicist to support our Navy DoD customer radiation survivability assessment and research programs in Colorado Springs, CO.
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a Senior Level Physicist to support our Navy DoD customer radiation survivability assessment and research programs in Colorado Springs, CO.
The physicist will perform scientific analysis and computational modeling to evaluate intrinsic, normal, hostile radiation environments and their effect on the SWS. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of tasks spanning radiation transport calculations, Hardening and Vulnerability (H&V) calculations, Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) calculations, hostile nuclear environment definition, and planning and assessment of radiation/electrical/mechanical testing. The position will require the use of scientific and engineering simulation software, in particular radiation transport codes (e.g., MCNP, etc.),
as well as with object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, etc.).
You would be a great fit if you have …
- A BS degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of related experience; a MS degree and 6+ years of related experience; or a PhD and 3+ years of related experience. An advanced degree is preferred and applicants with advanced degrees will be given preference.
- Experience in computational electromagnetics and/or radiation transport simulations and software.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Fortran, or C++.
- Experience presenting results to technical SMEs and government customers.
- Knowledge of electronic circuit analysis and/or solid-state physics.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance.

- Ability to mentor a team of motivated and highly skilled engineers and scientists.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills – particularly with respect to technical reports and presentations.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.
- An active Secret or Top-Secret clearance which requires a US Citizenship.
This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
