Principal Systems Engineer; onsite

Overview

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Global Algorithm Engineer to work on site in Colorado Springs, CO. This position requires active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.

• Lead the design, integration, and testing of advanced algorithms including tracking, tasking, and reasoning in a high-performance command and control setting.
• Lead the development and validation of complex models and simulations, including sensor capabilities and system-wide behavior.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Provide technical expertise and assessment to program leadership and the software engineering team.
• Support test events, with particular responsibility for algorithm configuration and performance.
• Serve as a senior liaison with internal leadership and external customers, representing the program in reviews, technical interchange meetings, and stakeholder briefings.

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
• Experience applying extensive expertise; solves complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity; work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long time perspective; erroneous decisions would normally result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives; may function in project leadership roles and represents the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts.
• Experience with C2
  
  BMC Next Program and Global task order.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TOP SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. (with SCI eligibility)
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• Experience working with Missile Defense Agency. Previous experience on the C2
  
  BMC Program
• Experience evaluating process and product performance: interface with engineering counterparts to ensure all deliverables meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Experience supervising product development lifecycle activities—including requirements allocation, architecture definition, design, integration, test, and acceptance—providing strategic oversight and risk mitigation.
