Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the DoD’s current and future operational needs.
As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC is responsible for the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical systems spanning the entire acquisition life cycle. These efforts ensure the United States Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners maintain a strategic advantage in space operations. This position will support multiple SSC/SZ-BC programs, as well as other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations.

Responsibilities- Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical support across all stages of the acquisition life cycle.
- Support acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities.
- Advise and assist the government on cost, schedule, and performance matters.
- Draft and revise Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and acquisition documentation for government program managers.
- Assist with presenting acquisition and technical documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop documents such as capability requirements, acquisition strategies, technical evaluations, system specifications, training materials, and reports using the latest government guidance.
- Provide technical and programmatic status reports on individual programs or portfolios upon request.
- Identify and recommend improvements in acquisition processes, technical approaches, and organizational structures.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a government risk management program, including risk identification and mitigation planning.
- Monitor program schedules, acquisition implementation, and risks. Maintain and update acquisition reports by aligning execution data with baselines.
- Advise the government program manager on technical engagements, including technical interchange meetings, design reviews, conferences, and working groups.
- Maintain awareness of all programs and technology development efforts within the portfolio.
- Assist integrated product teams and working groups and establish relationships with customers and contractors.
- Provide technical and operational insight to support mission protection, operations, and mission data assessments.
- Recommend solutions for technical anomalies and support audits, compliance inspections, and readiness reviews.
- Provide modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) and architecture development support for Space Protection and Space Control missions.
- Define and develop mission area architectures, force packaging, and courses of action for evaluation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS&A tools to provide analysis, advice, and interpretation of results.
- Experience providing modeling and simulation support
- Engineering and technical expertise for modeling, simulation, and analysis support for space defense efforts (Assessment of National Space Control Capabilities (ANSCC), Space Protection Program (SPP), Space Situational Awareness (SSA), National-level and Joint-level studies and analysis, as required)
- Executive Agent for Space Systems (EASS) expertise in the following areas: detailed working knowledge of modeling, simulation, and study activities
- Expertise in performing and implementing National-level studies
- Expertise and support in leading analysis of alternative and concept of operation type studies
- This position must be a SME Recognized Industry Leader
- BS/BA degree is required
