As an Orbital Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our nation's space missions and ensuring the safety and effectiveness of our satellite systems. You will conduct orbital analysis and data interpretation to monitor and track satellite positions, trajectories, and potential collisions. You will analyze and identify anomalies in satellite behavior and participate in meetings and presentations to brief clients and management on orbital analysis findings.

You can interact with operations managers, operators, and analysts on new analytic methods, technologies, and strategies, and collaborate with national and tactical operations elements to advance target development efforts, recommend strategies, and support strategic and operational requirements. We focus on growing as a team to deliver the best support to our customers, so you’ll have resources for mentoring and learning new skills and tools.

• Experience with a scripting language such as Shell, Perl, or Python
• Knowledge of space surveillance and tracking systems such as radar and optical sensors
• Ability to compile and analyze statistics based on space object population
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• TS/SCI clearance
• Associate’s degree and 8+ years of experience with space, engineering, or orbital analytics, or:
  
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience, or
  
  • Master's degree and 4+ years of experience with space, engineering, or orbital analytics

• Experience with space and orbital mechanics and data analysis
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements for more efficient and accurate analysis
• Ability to use specialized software and tools to perform orbital calculations and predictions
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $ (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package.
