Position: Sr Structural Engineer (Data Centers)

Senior Structural Engineer (Data Centers)

Join Jacobs as a Senior Structural Engineer in our Advanced Manufacturing team. You will work on a variety of Data Center projects—including new builds, retrofits, and colocations—contributing to design, analysis, and coordination across domestic and international offices.

Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis and create computer models for building and structural systems.
  • Develop design calculations for members, foundations, and material take‑offs for estimating.
  • Write miscellaneous calculations, assist with schedules, and prepare design documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, MEP, and construction professionals, to deliver project objectives on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices domestically and internationally.
  • Assist in growing technical expertise and expanding leadership responsibilities within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 8+ years of professional structural engineering experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become licensed in additional states.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, S3D) and structural analysis tools (RISA, STAAD).
  • In‑depth knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and related industry design codes and building codes.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including MS Teams for remote collaboration.
  • Willingness to travel 10–20% to client sites.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Engineering.
  • Experience with industrial metals projects such as casting or rolling operations.
  • Leadership experience delivering projects on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations.

Salary

Base salary range: $ – $ per year. Individual compensation is determined by location, experience, and skill set.
