We are seeking a Tactical Transition to Operations Specialist to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. The role supports the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract for the Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC), delivering secure, survivable communications for nation‑wide warfighters.

- Provide expertise in system acquisition and transition to operations/sustainment planning, scheduling, analysis, requirements verification, technical documentation and capability integration for SATCOM programs.
- Develop and evaluate lifecycle documentation, including System Transition Plans, provisioning documents, Operational Acceptance (OA) and Initial Operational Capability (IOC) plans, Materiel Fielding Plans (MFP), Integrated Schedules, agreements, RFPs, contract data requirements (CDR), and data deliverables.
- Participate in site‑survey planning and execution.
- Coordinate program‑related documentation with Program Office, HQ Space Operations Command (SpOC), and Delta 8 concerning OA, IOC, FOC requirements and Technical Orders/Manuals, training, and early use.
- Lead and manage the system transition to operations/sustainment process, facilitating OA/IOC criteria closure, assessing system modifications, monitoring progress, identifying risks, documenting lessons learned, and reporting status to the Program Office.
- Facilitate transition planning forums and working groups such as the Transition Management Working Group (TMWG), Integration meetings, Training Planning Team, and technical design reviews.
- Create and maintain electronic databases.

Standard.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 7+ years’ experience in DoD systems acquisition lifecycle management and/or operations (5+ years if holding a technical BS).
- Proficiency with the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (DoDI 5000 series).
- Proficiency with Integrated Life Cycle Management (DAFI 63‑101/20‑101).
- Proficiency with system transition to operations and support.
- Knowledge of Program Office and/or HQ Combat Forces Command (CFC) (previous HQ SpOC) processes.
- Experience in weapon system transition to operations and support and system fielding (OA, IOC, site activation).
- Ability to work autonomously with government customers, lead teams and projects, establish and execute milestone and critical‑path schedules.
- Experience developing and evaluating lifecycle documentation such as Transition Plans and Materiel Fielding Plans.
- Understanding of DoD and joint service acquisition instructions and policy.
- Knowledge of 12 Integrated Product Support Elements.
- Proficiency with requirements management and writing acquisition technical documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas, recommendations, and options to customers, senior leaders, and stakeholders.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- B.S. in a technical field.
- 10+ years’ experience in DoD systems acquisition lifecycle management and/or operations.
- Experience in MILSATCOM space or related operations.
- Background as a System Program Office or HQ CFC (previous HQ SpOC) staff member.
- Experience with space system acquisition lifecycle management and space system transition.
