Floater Lead Teacher

This position is set to begin on February 2nd.
Work scheduled for 40 hours a week.
Position runs from August to May and is off over the summer.
Plans and implements learning experiences that advance the development of the whole child. Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment using high quality learning experiences to advance the development of the whole child in partnership with families. Complies with all Head Start Performance Standards, Colorado Department of Human Services licensing requirements, and the Colorado Quality Standards for Early Childhood Care and Education Services.
Implements a balance of group and individualized experiences to promote the development of school readiness skills as defined by CPCD’s School Readiness Action Plan. Provides daily supervision for assigned classroom staff. Teacher Floater will be required to travel among classrooms/sites as directed by the CD Supervisor.
- Step 1: AA Degree/ECE or related Field & DQ (Written Agreement to obtain a DQ if not held) – $26.52 per hour.
- Step 2:
Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or related Field and DQ (Written Agreement to obtain a DQ if not held) – $29.45 per hour.

- Associates degree in ECE or related field and Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualified. If not Director Qualified, agreement to obtain certificate immediately.
- Experience teaching in early childhood education, including curriculum planning, assessments, and effective teacher‑child interactions.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
- First Aid and infant, child & adult CPR within the first year of employment; maintain as required.
- Medication Administration certification within 90 days of employment; maintain as required.
- Successful completion of pre‑employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check as required by Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing.
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or closely related field with 30 credits of early childhood education courses.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language relevant to the community served).
