Floater Lead Teacher
Plans and implements learning experiences that advance the development of the whole child. Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment using high‑quality learning experiences to promote school readiness skills as defined by CPCD’s School Readiness Action Plan. Provides daily supervision for assigned classroom staff and travels among classrooms/sites as directed by the CD Supervisor.
Pay Scale- Step 1 (AA Degree/ECE or related field & DQ): $26.52/hr
- Step 2 (Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or related field + DQ): $29.45/hr
At CPCD we provide more than 1,500 children living in poverty, or who are challenged by special circumstances, with early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Our additional health, dental, and family support services ensure that children enrolled in our programs are ready to succeed in school and life.

- Must have reliable transportation and maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.
- Associate’s degree in ECE or related field and Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualified. If not currently Director Qualified, must agree to obtain this certificate and begin the process immediately.
- Experience teaching in early childhood education, including curriculum planning and implementation, assessments, and effective teacher–child interactions.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
- First Aid and infant, child & adult CPR within the first year of employment and maintain as required.
- Medication Administration certification within 90 days of employment and maintain as required.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing.
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or closely related field with 30 credits of early childhood education courses.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or another language relevant to the community served).

$2,121.79 – $2,356.18 per pay period.
