Job DescriptionPlans and implements learning experiences that advance the development of the whole child. Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment using high‑quality learning experiences to advance the development of the whole child in partnership with families. Complies with all Head Start Performance Standards, Colorado Department of Human Services licensing requirements, and the Colorado Quality Standards for Early Childhood Care and Education Services.
Implements a balance of group and individualized experiences to promote the development of school readiness skills as defined by CPCD’s School Readiness Action Plan. Provides daily supervision for assigned classroom staff.
- Step 1 – Associate’s degree in ECE or related field and Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualified: $2,121.79 per pay period (bi‑weekly).
- Step 2 – Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field and Director Qualified: $2,356.18 per pay period (bi‑weekly).
- Associate’s degree in ECE or related field and Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualified (or agreement to obtain within the first year).
- Experience teaching in early childhood education, including planning, implementing curriculum, using assessments, and providing effective and nurturing teacher‑child interactions.
- Must be able to lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
- First Aid and infant, child & adult CPR within the first year; maintain certification as required.
- Medication Administration certification within 90 days; maintain as required.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check per Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing (and subsequent annual or as required).
- Reliable transportation; personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as required by the State of Colorado.
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or closely related field with 30 credits of early childhood education courses.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language relevant to the community served).
- Paid vacation time, paid sick time, and paid holidays.
- Paid holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Presidents Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
- Paid breaks: 1 week for Spring Break (March), 1 week for Fall Break (November), and 2 weeks for Winter Break (end of December/beginning of January).
